Built by Contractors, For Contractors
Powering Oklahoma City Forward Since 1961
The IEC Oklahoma City Chapter (IEC-OKC) was established in 1961 by a group of 31 charter members from across the state who recognized the need for a unified voice for open-shop electrical contractors and a reliable pipeline for training the next generation of skilled workers.
Among the founding companies were Bowers Electric, Boggs Electric, Bramlett Electric, Cobb Electric, Colter Electric, Wright Electric, and many others who laid the foundation for what IEC-OKC would become. Notably, as early as 1958, Mr. Paul Colter of Colter Electric signed one of the initial documents from IEC National, marking Oklahoma City’s influence on the national stage.
Today, IEC-OKC continues to champion the success of independent electrical contractors through world-class training, advocacy, and a strong professional network. We invite you to join us as we build the future of the electrical industry in Oklahoma.
Special thanks to Winfred Wright, Jim Krueger, Buddy Cobb, and Charles Duncan for helping preserve the history of IEC-OKC.
